Dystreet

Urban dystopia

Zirkumflex has welcomed an art installation and a limited series of risograph printed posters by Valère Mougeot from June 23 – July 7, 2017.

The prefix « dys », from the Ancient Greek, expresses the idea of difficulty, anomaly or bad conditions. These are pejorative terms characterizing a repertoire of disparate forms which hold the artist’s attention in his urban environment (street). Through techniques such as drawing and sculpture, he uses a set of actions like marks, displacements and associations to affirm what he calls a « recycling of signs ».
